Club Meeting Thursday 9th August

Post written by Moira Beaton DTM, Vice President Public Relations

It’s festival time here in Edinburgh but that didn’t stop club members turning up for their usual fortnightly fix of Toasmasters.

We had a good turnout with 15 members and 6 guests.

Eileen Scott was the Toastmaster of the Evening and introduced an Olympics flavour with her introductory question, ‘If you were to win gold medal for something, what would it be?’

The word of the day was flabbergasted and several members were flabbergasted throughout the evening.

Dawn Kofie delivered her CC2 speech which was based on Stephen Covey’s book  ‘The Seven Habits of  Highly Successful People.

Paul Bailey coined a new word ‘windbaggery’ in his CC8 speech Art Critics – Experts or Windbags?

Kirsten McKenzie, also delivered a CC8 speech, Unsung Hero, the story of her grandfather.

Neil MacLure  presented the Table Topics session and Richard McMahon evaluated them.

The Best Table Topics ribbon went to Claire Dipnarine for her first ever Table Topic. Well done Claire!
