“The practice I have gained from Table Topics helped me in a real-life situation.”
In this case, the ‘real-life situation’ was a job interview.
Waverley member, Johanne Burns, wrote this in a letter, printed in this month’s Toastmaster magazine.
Johanne’s letter went on to say that although she did not get the job, the feedback she received was very positive “especially in regard to my presentation and my responses to interview questions.”
If you want to hear what else Johanne said, read her letter, Good Impressions, in the October 2012 Toasmaster magazine.
Writing a letter for a magazine is not as easy as it looks.
Editors want letters that are well-structured, interesting, make a point and keep to time, i.e. within the specified word count – just like a Table Topic!
Well done Johanne for having the letter accepted and published.
