Our club meeting next Thursday (21st March) is our Contest evening with both the International Speech Contest and the Evaluation Contest taking place.
To enter the Speech Contest you must have completed at least 6 projects from the Competent Communicator manual.
We have only two confirmed speakers for the International Speech Contest to date – if you are eligible to take part please take this opportunity to entertain and educate your fellow club members and most welcome guests for 5 to 7 minutes on a topic of your choice.
The Evaluation Contest will be held after the interval and all club members are eligible to take part and practise your evaluation skills. We will have a ‘guest’ test speaker from another Toastmasters club who will deliver the speech – all you need to do is give an evaluation of the speech for between 2 to 3 minutes.
If you would like take part in either contest (and have not already entered) please contact me at your earliest convenience.
The winners of each contest go forward to the Area 30 contest (and will have home advantage) on Saturday April 13th.
All members and guests welcome to this entertaining and educational evening.
Kind Regards
Stephen Dix
