Division S, which came into being on 1st July this year, held its first contest in Dundee yesterday.
The Humorous Speech and Table Topics contest at the Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre was everything a contest should be – well-organised, well-attended, well catered, with excellent speeches and lots of laughter. It proved Ralph C Smedley’s point – ‘we learn best through enjoyment.’
Division S Governor, Jim Davidson opened the contest and welcomed Luanne Kent, District 71 Governor.
Luanne, who lives in Dublin, and is in Scotland visiting as many clubs as she can, will be at Waverley Communicators’ meeting on Thursday and will address the club. Don’t miss it as it’s not often the District Governor has the chance to visit the clubs. And , if you’re confused about areas, divisions, districts have a look at the organisational chart.
Congratulations to Eileen Scott who came second in the Humorous Speech Contest proving that hard work, group evaluations at the club, and the support of Waverley members pays off in the end.
The results of the Division S contest are:

- John McPhee, Perth Toastmasters
